For guided or unguided walking holidays, Casa Mariposa provides the perfect inland holiday home. Situated in beautiful countryside near Martos in the province of Jaen, Andalucia - a taste of real Spain. Jaen is the land of olive trees and white-washed farms. The soil is orange in colour and makes for a very dramatic and truly beautiful landscape.
Accommodation. A traditional Spanish farmhouse comprising 2 double bedrooms, 1 single bedroom, shower room, living room, dining room & kitchen, large terrace and splendid views. Suitable for 2 to 4 people (possibly 5) on a self catering basis.
The farmhouse is surrounded by a working landscape. The busy olive picking season is December to February and the trees are pruned in March and April.
Walking Holidays. This is a mountainous area with good walking along tracks through the olive groves up onto the hills and mountains around. There is a reservoir at the bottom of the valley and the scenery is much greener than on the coast. Several Spanish ramblers clubs walk pass the house. Sightseeing Holidays. This area of Spain is quite historical with numerous historic cities within easy travelling distance, not least Cordoba, Granada, Jaen. Main attractions are Alhambra & Generalife and Mezquita Mayor. There are numerous fiestas throughout the year including our local fiesta in May.
