Casa Mariposa is situated on an off road track which leads on to numerous tracks and paths leading down to the river and reservoir or up onto the hills and mountains around this area. You can literally cycle or walk to anywhere along these tracks.
You can plan your cycling or walking to be as easy or as strenuous as you want. The local mountains are in excess of 4,000 feet.
Wildlife includes eagles, hawks, wild boar, lynx, pine martins, hares, with water fowl and the occasional osprey at the reservoir.
Several Spanish ramblers clubs walk past the house on a regular basis.

This passes interesting lagunas and the beautiful village of Zuheros. The track takes you over 20th century ironwork bridges and quiet paths, passing hilltop castles where El Cid rallied troops.
